Sailing and Windsurfing ...

In place of the normal afternoon activities, students can join a small group enjoying their chosen sport and improving their skills.

The sheltered seafront at Dover provides an ideal location for learning or improving your sailing and windsurfing skills. Students will join other English youngsters taking part in the Royal Yachting Association's Young Sailors Scheme. The Association  has a fleet of more than 30 dinghies of different sizes and classes.

You will spend time with qualified instructors in Dover who will pass on their knowledge of sailing and windsurfing.

The course is open to all levels from beginners upwards.

The sailing course are based on stages one and two of the RYA Young Sailors course. Each participant is given a log-book to complete during the course. This can be taken home as a record of your level of competence.

All equipment is provided for both courses.

PLEASE  NOTE:

  • All students attending these courses should be physically fit and able to swim 50 metres in light clothing.
  • All students going on the water will be required to wear an approved buoyancy aid/life jacket, which is provided.
  • You should bring warm clothing, a windproof jacket and footwear such as trainers, plus a towel and a change of clothing.
  • Anyone with a medical condition should tell the group leader before the start of the course.
  • All of the above activities are supervised by qualified staff, who are trained to the highest level in their particular sports.
  • Safety of their clients is paramount and both the horse riding and sailing schools have  passed the standard set by the relevant equestrian and sailing bodies to which they belong.
