College conditions

CLASSES
  • Attendance
    Please attend all the lessons on your timetable, If you are ill, please let the Welfare staff know and they will contact a doctor if necessary.
  • Punctuality
    Please be on time for every class. If you are late, it disturbs the lesson and your classmates.

THE SCHOOL

  • Smoking
    You can only smoke outside. Smoking is not allowed in any part of the building because it is a fire risk.
  • English at all times
    Please speak English in the School.

Rooms
You may use the Junior Common room, Games Room, TV Room, Library (Room 5) after classes.
You can get drinks in the Junior Common room in the morning break. There is drinking water in the Long Corridor.

The Woods
You are not allowed to walk in the woods around the edges of the parkland for your own safety.

Valuables
Be careful. Put money and valuables in your locker. If you have a lot of money, ask Welfare to look after it.

Sports Equipment
You can use the sports equipment at break times and lunch times but you need to pay a deposit of £5.00 to the Welfare officer and sign for it. If you do not damage the equipment then you get the £5.00 back. During the Social Programme you do not pay a deposit for sports equipment.

Damage
This is a historic building, please help us to look after it.

TELEPHONES
There are two telephones at LTC from which you can make national and international calls. Your family can also call you on these phones but you must answer the phone.

LIVING IN RESIDENTIAL ACCOMMODATION

  • Leaving and returning to the college
    If your parents/guardian signed a Permissions Form then you will be allowed out according to the form. If they have not, you will not be allowed out alone. All resident students must sign out when leaving the College and sign in when returning to the College because it is a fire regulation. The book for you to sign is near the Welfare Office.

  • Times for returning
    Students under 18 years old must return to College by 22.00 at the latest. If they have their parent's permission to stay out later on special occasions, these students must ask Alisdair/Leons permission on each of these occasions.

  • Weekend and overnight absences
    If you want to stay away overnight, you must tell the Alisdair/Leon in advance.
    Students under 18 may not be away overnight without the permission of their parents.

  • Noise
    Remember, you are living in a community Please be quiet in bedrooms and bathrooms after 23.00.

  • Electrical appliances
    Do not use electrical appliances in your room. Use the Hair Drying Areas to dry your hair. If you have a radio, please use batteries.

  • Food
    Don't keep food in your bedroom.

  • Washing clothes
    You may use the College Laundry Room for washing clothes. The last wash is at 21.00. You can only wash small things in the bathrooms. Do not dry clothes directly on the radiators because it is a fire risk - use the rails provided.

  • Accommodation areas/bedrooms
    Male students are not allowed into the female accommodation.
    Female students are not allowed into the male accommodation.

  • Swimming
    For your own safety, you should go swimming only with teachers or the social organisers.

  • Visitors
    Students who invite guests into the College should introduce them to the Welfare Officer when they arrive. Your guest must not go upstairs and must leave the College before 22.00.

  • Pocket money
    If you have a lot of English money then we will look after it for you. We will keep it in the safe in the Welfare office and you will be able to collect it every week day.

  • Receiving telephone calls
    Your family can telephone you before 09.00, between 13.00 and 14.00 and between 18.30 and 22.00. They can call on + 44 1323 722485 or + 44 1323 722232.
