Student welfare is a top priority. Our management, teachers, social organiser and welfare officers work together to ensure that all the students receive the attention they need. It is very important that, for every student, the time spent at LTC is happy and
secure. All social activities are supervised by our carefully selected staff and young learners can only go out of LTC unsupervised if their parents have given written permission. We have First Aid trained staff at LTC at all times and will arrange for any student, who needs it, to see a doctor. It is easy for students and parents to contact each other by phone or fax while they are
here.
DOCTOR AND HEALTH
Only students from these countries have free medical treatment:
- EU countries
- European Western Union Countries
- Former Soviet Bloc countries
- British Commonwealth and Dependent territories
- Students who are enrolled on a course for 6 months or more
You can not get free treatment if you had the medical condition before you came to
Britain.
Students from other countries will have to pay for medical treatment and it can be very
expensive.
However, LTC can manage medical insurance. Contact the Registrar if you want to take out medical insurance or if you have any
questions.
If you are ill ask the Welfare Officer to arrange an appointment with the
doctor.
DENTIST
Dental treatment is not free in Britain and it can be expensive. We can make an appointment for you if you need a
dentist.
ACCIDENTS
If you have an accident, we can help. Any accident must be reported to Welfare. Go to the Welfare Office.
FIRE
There is a fire notice in the classrooms and fire exit signs all around the building. Please take note of them. If you hear the fire bell, leave the building as quickly and as quietly as possible and assemble by the Main Entrance. We test the fire bell every week.
